JULIET NELSON

Juliet Nelson est l’une des plus talentueuses chanteuses reggae de Montréal.

Originaire de Mandeville en Jamaïque et vivant aujourd’hui à Montréal, Juliet a perfectionné ses talents vocaux dans des chorales d’église. Et c’est à l’âge de 16 ans qu’elle se lance dans la musique reggae.

Pendant cette période, elle ne cesse de faire vibrer le public canadien en collaborant avec le New Horizons Band, Jah Cuttah and the Determination Band. Elle a fait une tournée avec Lorraine Klaasen, lauréate d’un Juno, en tant que choriste.

Après avoir effectué de nombreuses tournées dans le monde entier avec Buju Banton, lauréat d’un Grammy Award, et le sensationnel Wayne Wonder, Juliet rejoint un autre groupe primé, Worl-A-Girl. En tant que soliste, elle était une artiste de Penthouse Recording dont la discographie comprend les singles populaires, Turn down the Lights, Lead You, et Show and Tell, Love Me or Leave Me entre autres.

Juliet a prêté sa douce voix à de nombreuses œuvres enregistrées et performances live de Vernon Maytone, ainsi qu’à de nombreux artistes reggae locaux et internationaux.  Sa chanson I Try figure sur la production montréalaise de l’album compilation Riddim Vibez qui est sorti en mai 2011.

Les sorties de Juliet entre 2012 et 2021 sont des voies séparées sur le label Subsonik. Love, Come back home, Where is the love, It’s my life et All this love figurent sur différents albums de compilation pour le label Indie Rootz.

Juliet Nelson is one of Montréal’s most talented reggae singers. A native of Mandeville, in central Jamaica, and now living in Montréal, Juliet perfected her vocal talents in church choirs. At age 16, she moved toward reggae.

Since then, she has thrilled Canadian audiences, collaborating with the New Horizons Band, Jah Cuttah and the Determination Band. She has also toured with Juno Award-winner Lorraine Klaasen as a backup singer.

After many world tours with Grammy Award-winner Buju Banton and the sensational Wayne Wonder, Juliet joined another award-winning band, Worl-A-Girl. She was a Penthouse Recording solo artist with popular singles including Turn Down the Lights, Lead You, Show and Tell and Love Me or Leave Me to her credit.

Juliet has lent her gentle voice to many recorded works and live performances by Vernon Maytone as well as to various local and international reggae artists. Her song I Try is on the Montréal production of the compilation album Riddim Vibez, released in May 2011.

Juliet’s releases between 2012 and 2021 include separate tracks on the Subsonik label. Love, Come Back Home, Where is the Love, It’s My Life and All This Love are found on various compilation albums for the Indie Rootz label.
